In November 2018, Viking Wind erected a wind turbine in the town of Sisimiut, Greenland, which is going to be a part of a pilot project to test the stamina of the wind turbine under extreme weather conditions, such as occurring in the artic area.

The Greenland project is the development of “Off-grid” projects for the future (further reading here). The Wind turbine is going to produce energy to a unit independent of an established electrical grid. It allows producing electricity in isolated areas with sparse electricity, without dependency on fossil fuel. That offers secluded areas to be self-sufficient and not depend solely on more pollutant energy sources. The bonus is more sustainable and less pollution and will bring endless new possibilities for rural areas.

The second project was on a small Danish island with Vejrø Resort as a contractor. According to the schedule, the Viking Wind turbine was erected in November 2018.

Vejrø Resort offers island holidays in beautiful surroundings. The Wind turbine will help to fulfill their mission of sustainability in the energy field while accentuating aesthesia and minimizing the interference with the surroundings.

The turbine will combine with diesel, solar energy and battery Stored energy (and reduce the use of fossil fuel) to supply the resort with clean energy and is going to be a major contributor to minimizing the use of fossil fuel in the resort. (further reading here)
