Biogas turns waste into value

Decarbonising energy systems requires solutions tailored to local conditions. While electrification is the preferred option for many applications, sectors such as high-temperature industrial processes still require renewable gaseous fuels. At the same time, agriculture produces large volumes of manu

Integrating power and gas systems through Power-to-Gas in Sønderborg

The growing share of electricity from wind and solar increases variability in energy supply. During periods of high production and low demand, renewable electricity cannot always be used, leading to curtailed wind turbines. At the same time, certain industries require stable, high-temperature energy

From biogas to net-negative emissions and beyond

17 February 2026

During biogas upgrading, large volumes of highly concentrated biogenic CO₂ are separated from the methane stream. Traditionally, this CO₂ has been released through chimneys, despite it already being concentrated and purified as part of the biogas upgrading process. While biogenic, these emissions re

Wind energy

Wind energy plays a key role in reaching Denmark’s target of 70% greenhouse gas emission reductions by 2030. And with some of the best wind conditions in the world, it is easy to understand how Denmark has become a global hub for wind power technology

Green hydrogen

Green hydrogen and e-fuels play a vital role in advancing the green transition. Produced through electrolysis using renewable electricity, both are critical components in decarbonising industries and transportation globally.

Solar energy

The sun provides more than enough energy to meet the whole world's energy needs, but only represents a small part of the world’s energy mix. Harnessing solar energy is one of the obvious ways to secure the green transition - both in Denmark and globally.
