From Energy Agreement to green reality

In March 2012 a historic new Energy Agreement was reached in Denmark. The Energy Agreement provides a solid framework for the huge private and public investments to be made in the years to come within energy efficiency, renewable energy and the energy system.

With the Finance Act for 2013 the allocation of money has been specified for making the initiatives of the Energy Agreement reality.

Creating the green jobs of tomorrow

Minister for the Environment, Ida Auken is excited about the 200 million "green" euros in the Finance Act for 2013:

“Now we can start transforming Denmark to a more resource efficient society. The formula for creating the jobs of tomorrow is green solutions.”

Strenghtening green innovation

In the next few years, the global demand for solutions that can reduce environmental impact is expected to increase. Denmark is already in a great position to meet that demand, but still needs to get even better at turning good ideas and projects into competitive solutions.

The Finance Act for 2013 allocates large funds for strengthening research and development within green technologies.

Aiming to be the best

“We must be the best at developing environmental technologies. We must be the best at saving water and energy. We must be the best at recycling metals and phosphorus. We need to create thousands of jobs without it being at the expense of the environment that is the very foundation of our prosperity and well-being”, says Ida Auken.
