The Danish Pavilion at COP28

As the official Danish negotiation party to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Denmark’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities has access to organising the official Danish pavilion in the negotiation zone (blue) at COP28.

In collaboration the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, State of Green, the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are developing the Danish pavilion in Dubai.

The pavilion is located in the blue zone compromising a number of leading Danish companies, energy majors, financial players, organisations and NGO’s. The aim is to create a platform that brings together decision-makers and key opinion leaders from all over the world to spur new partnerships and engage in dialogue around public-private climate action for accelerated green transition.

What we know so far:

Time: The UAE will be hosting the 28th session of the Conference of Parties (COP28) to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) from 30 November 2023 to 12 December 2023

The Danish Pavillion: The Danish pavilion will be located in the blue zone. 28 Danish Companies, NGO and authorities will be present at the pavilion, host events and interact with international partners.

The COP28 presidency has provided a high-level draft thematic programme: COP28 UAE | Thematic Program

High-level days will be 1 – 2 December

The official Day of rest will be 7 December

Presidency: The Presidency position will be chaired by Sultan al-Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology

Participation: COP28 will be a global event with participation from more than 80,000 delegates, including 140 heads of state and government, and more than 5,000 media professionals

Venue and accommodation: Dubai Expo City will serve as the venue for COP28.
