Delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Energy visits Energy City Frederikshavn

“A visit like this indicates that Frederikshavn Municipality is a pioneer in green transition. In our local area, we have specific cases for district heating solutions, which is what the Chinese are requesting along with our knowledge and experience. This visit gives us the opportunity to put our local business into play and introduce them to decision makers from the Chinese market,” says Poul Rask Nielsen, Project Chief, Energy City Frederikshavn.

Great potential for local businesses

VICTOR DST is a local business that works with district heating solutions and, among other things, delivers pipe installations for district heating plants. In cooperation with IESenergy A/S, VICTOR DST also delivers complete heat pump solutions. Ole Nygaard, Managing Director, VICTOR DST says:

“The Chinese market has a great potential for us. They are requesting the technologies that we work with within district heating. We can contribute with our experience and share our knowledge with them but, of course, we also hope to be able to take a step into the Chinese market for district heating solutions.”

The visit was arranged by State of Green and the Danish Energy Agency. The Chinese delegation is visiting Denmark from 23. October to 10. November 2017. The visit is centered on learning about Danish experiences and knowhow in district heating, surplus heat, energy management and energy planning.

The visit began at Energy City Frederikshavn and continued at MAN Diesel & Turbo, who presented their case on using surplus heat in Frederikshavn’s district heating system.
