The Danish city of Aalborg to Save 15,000 tonnes of CO2 with Electric Boiler
Upgrading & reserve
-An electric boiler will allow us to produce district heating based on green energy instead of oil or gas, which was previously the case. In addition, an electric boiler will also allow us to sell services on the electricity market, so we will occasionally be able to convert electricity to district heating when there’s an overcapacity of electricity on the market from wind turbines, for example, Jesper Høstgaard-Jensen, director in Aalborg Heating explains.

The EUR 5.1 million investment also entails upgrading and renovation of existing natural gas fired reserve boilers, which help reduce CO2 emissions.
The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
