Denmark has been a green growth frontrunner for decades, and has accumulated more than 40 years of experiences in sustainable development (i.e. water resource management, energy efficiency and renewable energy). Many Danish companies have achieved great breakthroughs within energy efficiency, utilisation and research of renewable energy resources, creation of liveable cities, and have also developed world-leading products, technologies, green concepts and practical solutions.

Given the above facts, the Parties have agreed to sign this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further collaboration in the following areas:

• To encourage and facilitate cooperation sharing experiences and best practises between Danish public and private stakeholders and Chinese local and regional governments. Key areas are water (water supply and management, clean water, industrial water usage optimisation), energy efficiency and renewable energy, solid waste handling, recycling, air quality and liveable cities.
• To facilitate capacity-building and training programs for national, regional and local government officials in the above-mentioned areas as well as areas of public interest. These activities could also be carried out in the form of workshops, symposiums, conferences with participants from China and Denmark.
• To serve as points of information on experiences with policy, regulation and incentives to spur the green transition.

China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) is a nation-wide non-profit organisation initiated by the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. In addition to policy research and evaluation in various fields of economic and social development, CDRF has been engaging in executive education for senior officials from central and provincial governments of China in order for capacity building in public management. Under the leadership of DRC, China Development Research Foundation is internationally recognised as a leading institution working with overseas partners in promoting sustainable development.

Sharing Danish Energy Solutions
The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM 8) is a high-level global forum to promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology, to share lessons learned and best practices, and to encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy.

Together with the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate and the Danish Trade Council, State of Green have arranged the Danish Pavilion at the 8th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM8) and Mission Innovation 2 (MI2). Here, the Danish companies Vestas, the Technical University of Denmark, Danfoss and DONG exhibited to exchange experiences and to share their solutions with the visitors.
