Explore the eventAs we face an escalating global biodiversity crisis, it is becoming increasingly clear that we must take collaborative action to safeguard nature. Biodiversity is no longer just an environmental issue; it has become a critical business concern that influences long-term viability, resource availability and supply chain resilience. With nature and climate being two sides of the same coin, it is imperative that all corners of society recognise the value of integrating biodiversity considerations into their strategies and operations.
The Danish Biodiversity Partnership, a public-private alliance, brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including companies, financial institutions, civil society organisations and government authorities. Together, the partnership has developed specific recommendations to identify and act on dependencies and impacts on biodiversity. These recommendations are not just a framework for corporate action; they represent a way to embed nature-positive practices across value chains and investment portfolios.
For companies, this means addressing biodiversity at every level – from internal operations to global supply chains – and contributing to the protection and restoration of ecosystems. Financial institutions, with their unique influence on capital flows, have a pivotal role in driving positive change by integrating biodiversity into their risk assessments, lending and investment strategies.
As you explore this publication, we encourage you to view the examples and recommendations provided as an invitation to participate in the global effort to halt biodiversity loss. Only by ensuring that ambitious policy and private-sector initiatives work in tandem, we can deliver a future where businesses thrive in harmony with nature, securing both economic and environmental sustainability in line with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
