Taking place in Belém, Brazil, from 10–21 November 2025, this year’s Climate Change Conference has been named ‘COP30 Brazil, Amazonia’ due to its placement in the world’s largest rainforest. According to the host nation, the Amazonia will provide a backdrop to remind global leaders of two central actors most affected by climate change: our shared natural heritage and indigenous peoples, who are often on the frontline of man-made climate change disasters.

COP30 marks the 30th edition of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP), where 198 member states under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) gather to accelerate collective action. The goal: to stabilise global greenhouse gas concentrations at a level that prevents dangerous human interference with the climate — while supporting natural adaptation and enabling sustainable development.

From negotiation to action

At COP29 in Baku, countries reached a milestone by finalising the framework for the Paris Agreement. With this foundation in place, COP30 in Belém marks a new chapter; the start of the implementation era. Ten years after COP21 in Paris, the focus now shifts from negotiation to action.

COP30 also represents a key checkpoint for global climate efforts. In the lead-up to the summit, countries are submitting their updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), outlining how they intend to contribute to the Paris Agreement’s temperature targets by 2035. These NDCs will not only guide national actions but also inform the first global stocktake — enabling a more transparent and evidence-based dialogue on the path forward.

The Denmark Pavilion: A showcase of public-private climate action

COP30 comes at a time of global uncertainty. Rising costs and shifting political priorities are testing the world’s climate ambitions. Yet Denmark is ready to reaffirm its commitment to climate leadership, bringing its largest-ever business delegation to a COP.

This year, 33 Danish partners from across the green value chain, including private companies, public institutions, financial organisations, and civil society, will take part in the Denmark Pavilion. Their shared goal: to show how cross-sector collaboration drives climate action.

With implementation at the heart of COP30, the role of the private sector has never been more vital. Through daily events and partner showcases, the Denmark Pavilion will highlight how public-private partnerships are essential to turning ambition into action — and how Denmark offers a proven model.

Denmark has set an ambitious climate target: a 70 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. Having already achieved nearly 60 percent by 2025, the country is well on its way. Much of this progress can be credited to Denmark’s long-standing tradition of collaboration — including 14 industry-specific climate partnerships, which have contributed more than 400 recommendations for reducing emissions. Up to 80 percent of these have already been implemented.

The Denmark Pavilion is jointly organised by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danish Industry, and State of Green.

Serving as a meeting point in the Blue Zone, located at D127, the Denmark Pavilion will host high-level events, bilateral meetings, and international dialogue centred on accelerating implementation and scaling green solutions. The Danish green sectors in focus will include clean energy, energy efficiency, finance, energy distribution and integration, biodiversity, food and agriculture systems, and the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors such as transport and heavy industry.

The joint ambition of the pavilion is simple: to inspire global action by showing that climate solutions are not just future visions, but existing realities.
