WINDA is a global platform that is specifically designed for the wind industry with the primary purpose of recording the status of GWO certified Training Providers and Delegates who have attended training courses in the GWO standards.  WINDA will support the continued improvement of global wind safety standards, reduce costs across the wind supply chain and provide enhanced assurance of the quality and integrity of training being carried out.

A safe and easy to use database
Repeated checks of training between contractors is a necessary, but time-consuming and costly administrative effort. By ensuring a quick, safe and easy way to verify training records, WINDA will cut time spent and costs.

“WINDA will help increase trust by eliminating risks of fraud from non-certified training providers, and it will make verification checks of training certificates of personnel easy and fast”, says Secretary General of GWO, Jakob Lau Holst.

He adds, ”as an added benefit, WINDA will increase work force mobility as Delegates will have online access to their own training records. It will no longer be necessary to ask an old employer or a training provider for verification of training records.”

WINDA is currently available in an open Beta test version until September 30. The final version of WINDA will launch on October 17, 2016.

WINDA presentation at Wind Energy Hamburg on September 30
The GWO secretariat will hold a WINDA presentation event at Wind Energy Hamburg.

“We hope GWO certified training providers and other users will try out the beta version of WINDA, and take this opportunity in Hamburg to come and share their experiences from testing with us. We want an interactive Q&A session to gather input to allow us operate WINDA in the smartest, most efficient way possible for industry,” explains Jakob Lau Holst.

More information on the side event will soon follow on Global Wind Organisation’s website globalwindsafety.org where you can also read more about the WINDA database.
