The world’s most important wind event returns to Denmark

For the eighth time, Copenhagen will play host to the WindEurope Annual Event. More than a pat on the back, this is a strong recognition of Denmark’s world-leading wind industry, says Green Power Denmark, national partner of the event.

When WindEurope Annual Event opens its doors from 20–22 April 2027, it will once again take place in the Danish capital. This marks the eighth time that one of the world’s largest and most influential events for the wind sector is held in Denmark. Green Power Denmark will again serve as the national host and partner.

“This is more than just a nod to Denmark – it’s a significant acknowledgement of our globally leading green industry, which is driving growth, prosperity and job creation at home, while contributing to CO₂ reductions across the globe. The WindEurope Annual Event serves as a global showcase for Denmark’s green industrial strength.” Jan Hylleberg, Deputy CEO of Green Power Denmark.

The event is organised by WindEurope, the European wind energy association, which works to advance wind power as a central pillar of Europe’s energy system. Its members span the full value chain, including turbine manufacturers, energy companies, developers, research institutions and financial actors.

“We’re pleased to bring the WindEurope Annual Event back to Copenhagen. Our annual conferences are all about creating the right setting for the sector to connect, do large-scale business and forge meaningful partnerships. With its strong green industry, experience hosting major international events, and clear commitment to the green transition, Copenhagen is the ideal place to unite the sector.” Mia Magazin, Head of Events at WindEurope.

Though rooted in the wind industry, the event also connects with many other parts of the power value chain – from electrification and grid development to innovation and energy markets.

The WindEurope Annual Event typically attracts more than 16,000 participants from across the world – including climate and energy ministers, as well as top executives from leading companies.

“It’s crucial that the energy sector comes together. The world is experiencing strong and shifting winds – and these gusts are being felt across the green industry, which is facing challenges such as fewer orders, rising global competition and uncertainty around future projects,” Jan Hylleberg, Deputy CEO of Green Power Denmark.

As is tradition, Danish companies will have a strong presence when the WindEurope Annual Event returns to Copenhagen in 2027. A large share of them will be featured in The Pavilion – Powered by Denmark, which typically gathers up to 80 companies. The Pavilion is organised by Danish Energy Export, a subsidiary of Green Power Denmark and Danish Export Association.
