A High-Level Dialogue between P4G Sustainable Food Partnership CEO’s; unfolding an innovative partnership model and SDG2 impact solutions

Where: Online

The Sustainable Food Partnership (SFP) has been a part of the P4G journey since 2018 starting as a Start-Up partnership with the ambition of scoping new and sustainable solutions for nutritious, affordable foods in Ethiopia. In 2020, the partnership transitioned into a promising Scale-Up partnership that demonstrates a holistic and marketable full value chain approach to an SDG2 business case model that benefits base-of-the-pyramid consumers in Ethiopia; all in the shape of a nutritious, affordable biscuit product

Leading up to the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit and in line with Ethiopia’s ambitious and long-term objectives of eradicating child malnutrition as well as major stakeholders in the humanitarian food sectors seeking more sustainable production patterns, the SFP is a key example of how multi-stakeholder partnerships combining international and national experts in food production and food innovation can fill the gaps and pave the way for long-term sustainable and feasible business-to-business relations with tremendous SDG impact for the most vulnerable.

In this high-level conversation between CEOs and high-level speakers, we wish to bring together key representatives from the partnership and the P4G network to critically unfold the complexity and uniqueness of engaging in these types of partnerships, what challenges the food sector encounters in Ethiopia and beyond, and which solutions should be put in place to address these challenges.
