SE and PFA Pension Invest Massively in Onshore Wind Turbines
The purchase of 272 wind turbines is the direct outcome of a newly established joint venture between PFA Pension and SE. Joining forces under the name SE Blue Renewables, the two companies take ownership over 250 onshore wind turbines and 22 turbines located in coastal areas.
Market leading ambitions in Denmark
The turbines have been acquired from DONG Energy with a total capacity of 196 MW. In addition to these, 9 onshore wind turbines owned by SE, holding a capacity of approximately 25 MW, will also be part of SE Blue Renewables:
“We have an ambition to become the market leader in onshore wind turbines in Denmark and selected neighboring countries. A purchase of this magnitude puts us well on track to fulfill this ambition, and it allows us to produce wind energy at relatively low and stabile costs. It is a sound investment, which also benefits Denmark’s green transition”, says Ole Fruekilde Madsen, group managing director in SE Energy & Climate and board member at the newly established SE Blue Renewables.
As part of the agreement, SE Blue Renewables acquires DONG Energy’s onshore service organisation.
