A Special Visit from China

The delegation had a full program including meetings with the Chairman of the Danish Parliament Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, the Prime Minister Mrs. Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Villy Søvndal and H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

Chinese visit to DONG Energy’s Avedøre CHP plant

The delegation also had the time to visit some good examples of green technology at work in Denmark such as DONG Energy’s combined heat and power plant at Avedøre.

 “He [Mr. Yu Zhengsheng] has come to see the world’s most efficient power plant, which for the 11th time in a row is the Avedøre Power Plant. We can teach the Chinese to reduce the CO2 if they get to the point where we are at today”, said Thomas Dalsgaard, Executive Vice President at DONG Energy.

State of Green on a tour to Middelgrunden

During the delegation’s visit to Denmark, State of Green hosted a boat tour to the offshore wind farm outside Copenhagen known as Middelgrunden. The Danish Wind Industry Association took part in the tour and along with a number of Danish companies they presented the Danish wind sector and the Danish goal that wind power will account for 50 per cent of the electricity supply in 2020.
