Vattenfall is a leading European energy company with approximately 20,000 employees. For more than 100 years we have electrified industries, supplied energy to people’s homes and modernised our way of living. We now want to make fossil-free living possible within one generation. In Denmark, Vattenfall is the largest developer of on- and offshore wind energy.
Vattenfall is erecting the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farms in the Netherlands. With a combined capacity of 1.5 GW, the Hollandse Kust Zuid project marks Europe’s first subsidy-free offshore wind farm and will generate enough renewable energy to power three million Dutch homes.
On 22 August 2019, His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince of Denmark accompanied by Denmark’s Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, and the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities, Dan Jørgensen, officially opened Denmark’s, Scandinavia’s and Vattenfall’s largest offshore wind farm, Horns Rev 3.
