New Danish test centre to install 450 meter high wind turbines

Denmark plans to build a new national test centre, where eight wind turbines measuring up to 450 meters will be installed by 2027.

Wind turbines reaching new heights

As technology continues to evolve, so does the height of wind turbines. In 2027, Denmark will install and test 450 metre heigh wind turbines. The test centre will host eight turbines but the exact location of the test centre has not yet been decided.

Once built, the wind turbines can boast of being the tallest construction in Denmark. Right now, Siemens Gamesa’s SG 14-222 DD wind turbine, located in Østerild Klitplantage in North Jutland, holds that title with its impressive 271.4 meters.
