MINISTERIAL VISIT

MuchMoreWater was paid a visit by the Minister of Defence Peter Christensen.

MuchMoreWater is part of the family owned Ellegaard company and has, according to Peter Christensen, seemingly something to offer. So much so that the Minister paid the Roskilde based company a visit earlier this month.

In spite of having only 5 employees, the company have some heavy-duty costumers, amongst others the Swedish Defence, Norwegian Defence and British Defence. The company’s has also produced water purification systems for emergency deployment like Haiti, Pakistan and Mali.

“The Defence have some older, German solutions, but I bet they intend to buy from a Danish supplier instead. The Defence is interested in increasing the capacity for handling chemical, biological and radioactive pollution. What to do if, for example, Isis dumps chemicals in the water? We can deliver technical solutions which can remove it” says Jesper Ellegaard, who is estimating that 98 percent of the company’s revenue is from sales abroad.

The Clean water
One of the company’s niche products are small, mobile and agile water purification systems which are idealy suited for emergency situations, where there is a need for cleaning dirty water and making it drinkable.
“With our technology we can take any surface water or seawater and make into drinking water. In the third world, women and children daily spend 140 million hours every day just collecting water, which very often is of poor quality. Then the water has to be boiled to make it suitable for drinking. Our technology will substantially reduce the mortality rate and increase the productivity immensely and at the same time limit decease and increase the efficiency in schools” says Jesper Ellegaard, who among other projects have contributed with converting salt water to drinking water in Tchad, central Africa.
