Discover the white paperAs the international community tackles the challenge of transitioning to a sustainable, low-carbon future, Denmark is pushing forward with developments in green hydrogen and e-fuels. Targeting 4-6 GW of electrolysis capacity by 2030 and leveraging its vast wind resources, Denmark seeks to significantly contribute to global green hydrogen production.
This and much more were on the agenda as State of Green, alongside partners and leading companies from the Danish hydrogen sector, visited Rotterdam to showcase their solutions and foster new partnerships.
With an expected 15.000 international participants, spanning from public decision-makers to hydrogen experts, professionals and public solution providers, this year’s World Hydrogen Summit provided a perfect platform for knowledge-sharing, and networking as well as showcasing new and innovative solutions to harness the potential of green hydrogen and e-fuels on a global scale.
Together with the Confederation of Danish Industries and The Royal Danish Embassy in Holland, State of Green co-hosted the Pavilion of Denmark, showcasing Danish achievements, advancements, and the transformative potential of green hydrogen and e-fuels globally. As part of the pavilion, 12 participating Danish companies and organisations represented various solutions, promoting and presenting Denmark’s hydrogen stronghold to the world.
Guests at the Danish pavilion included Rob Jetten, Minister for Climate and Energy Policy and Deputy Prime Minister for the Netherlands, who stopped by the Danish Pavillion for a talk about the developments, future projects and challenges within the hydrogen industry in the Netherlands.
Additionally, representatives from the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action visited the pavilion to get an update on the Danish hydrogen infrastructure and projects from the Danish Technology Institute, presented via the interactive Green Together Experience platform.

Denmark has experience across the entire green hydrogen value chain, spanning unparalleled knowledge within wind energy, highly efficient electrolyser technologies, cross-industry energy efficiency, a strong transport sector, district heating grids for heat utilisation, and cutting-edge technology providers.
With numerous international stakeholders and top-level decision-makers at the Danish Pavilion, the Summit provided an excellent opportunity to highlight innovative hydrogen solutions. Among the participants, Danish company BWSC emphasized the current positive momentum in the hydrogen industry, fueled by a new financing framework agreement for a Danish hydrogen backbone.
“At BWSC we are very busy at the moment with many interesting opportunities in the UK, Germany and the Iberian peninsula. This is heavily driven by the favorable incentives in these regions. Also, the recent decision to open for the Danish offshore wind tends, as well as the positive movements we are seeing on the finance front on the hydrogen backbone, leave us very optimistic on Danish hydrogen projects.“ Maibritt Mastrup, Head of Green Business Solutions at BWSC

Another participant at the Danish Pavilion, Topsoe, highlighted the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries like steel as both a challenge and an opportunity for the sector.
“We are looking at a global steel industry that needs a fast way to decarbonise. The challenge here is the premium on green steel, which necessitates highly efficient use of power to deliver hydrogen that will enable cost-competitive green steel“ Agustin Rodriguez Riccio, Head of Sectors, Power-to-X at Topsoe
