This was a key message highlighted by His Majesty King Frederik X during a speech at the official Danish state visit to Australia last week. These words very much set the tone for a week where green collaboration took centre stage.
From 16–19 March, Danish and Australian stakeholders came together to strengthen partnerships within renewable energy and green buildings — demonstrating how shared ambitions can translate into concrete opportunities for business and collaboration.
And the visit went beyond dialogue. Several agreements were initiated, and Memorandums of Understanding were signed, marking tangible progress in advancing joint efforts and partnerships between borders.

Under the theme of “Partnering for a resilient tomorrow”, a strong Danish business delegation of more than 50+ companies travelled to Australia, representing leading expertise across clean energy, green buildings and broader Danish strongholds.
Across sector sessions, roundtables and site visits, participants explored key themes such as the Australian energy transition, energy security, and pathways for decarbonising the built environment. From offshore wind and green fuels to large-scale retrofitting and urban redevelopment, discussions highlighted both the urgency and the opportunity of accelerating the green transition.
The depth and openness of these exchanges reflect a growing alignment between Denmark and Australia on how to turn climate ambitions into tangible solutions.
The programme of the visit combined high-level dialogue with real-world insights and business engagement from both set of countries.
Throughout the visit, stakeholders engaged in targeted roundtables, site visits and sector seminars, while a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Danish and Australian partners – marking concrete steps towards strengthened collaboration.
These outcomes underlined a key takeaway: the green transition is not only a shared challenge, but a shared opportunity. By combining Australia’s scale and ambitions with Danish experience and solutions, a strong foundation has been laid for long-term partnerships.

During the Danish State Visit to Australia, Grundfos and the Grundfos Foundation announced a new partnership with Australian charity Rural Aid to strengthen drought resilience in rural farming communities.
The initiative will fund critical water infrastructure such as tanks and pump replacements in drought-affected regions, addressing water security challenges where access is essential to livelihoods.
Port of Melbourne and global towage operator Svitzer have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the deployment of next‑generation electric tugboats and the clean‑energy infrastructure required to operate them in Australia’s largest container port.
During the 2026 Danish State Visit to Australia, Danish renewable energy company European Energy and the Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding — witnessed by King Frederik X, Queen Mary, and Australian Energy Minister Chris Bowen — establishing a framework for collaboration on renewable energy projects across Yorta Yorta Country in northern Victoria, with a focus on cultural heritage protection, employment pathways, and benefit sharing for the Yorta Yorta people.
During the 2026 Danish Royal State Visit to Australia, Danish energy trading company InCommodities and Asia-Pacific green solutions provider Vena Group signed a approximately $200 million long-term battery storage agreement for the 204MW Bellambi Heights Battery Energy Storage System in New South Wales, underscoring growing Danish-Australian collaboration on renewable energy investment and critical grid infrastructure.
During the 2026 Danish State Visit to Australia, Danish cleaning technology company Nilfisk and City Facilities Management Australia signed a strategic innovation partnership to collaborate on piloting and scaling advanced cleaning technologies, combining Nilfisk’s data-driven insights with City’s facilities management expertise to deliver cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments — with ambitions to scale successful solutions internationally.
Danish insulation manufacturer ROCKWOOL has partnered with Australian companies Dulux and Fletcher Insulation to launch the StoneShield Cladding System, a high-performance, non-combustible external facade solution for the Australian construction market that combines mineral wool panels, advanced insulation wraps, and protective coatings for superior fire, thermal, and acoustic performance.
During the 2026 Danish State Visit to Australia, Danish facade automation company WindowMaster signed an exclusive partnership with Australian integrator Blue Squared to promote and sell its ventilation solutions in the Australian market.
