Albertslund District Heating Company faced several challenges in the Porsager area, which serves approximately 100 customers of various sizes. One of the primary challenges was the need to lower the temperature to 60 degrees to enhance energy efficiency and reduce grid losses.
Additionally, there was a requirement to increase the capacity of the heating system to accommodate the growing demand. Another significant challenge was the need for better control and monitoring of the heating network to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
These challenges necessitated a comprehensive solution that could address temperature regulation, capacity enhancement, and improved monitoring capabilities to support sustainable energy production methods, such as heat pumps utilizing surplus heat.
Porsager, the area with approximately 100 customers of various sizes, sought to lower the temperature to 60 degrees and increase capacity while gaining better control and monitoring of the area.
Grundfos provided an innovative solution with the iGRID T-zone, which includes leak detection capabilities. This solution resulted in lower grid losses and increased capacity for the customer. By implementing the iGRID T-zone, Albertslund District Heating Company can now better integrate sustainable production methods, such as heat pumps that utilize surplus heat.
This comprehensive approach not only enhances efficiency but also supports the company’s sustainability goals, ensuring a more reliable and environmentally friendly energy supply for the Porsager area.
