SEGES is the leading agricultural advisor in Denmark and offers solutions for tomorrow’s agriculture and food sector.
Our primary objective is to identify the commercial potential in agriculture in order to provide Danish farmers with the best tools for running their business more profitably and in a way that takes account of the environment and animal welfare.
One of SEGES’ most important tasks is to build a bridge between research and farmers, for instance by participating in research projects with universities and companies, and together with the local advisory centres all over Denmark, to make sure that the new knowledge is put into on-farm practice. This includes projects dealing with crop production, organic farming, the environment, livestock farming, and bioenergy to finance and tax legislation.
In our division SEGES Crop & Environment, today’s climate issues are important in our work. The aim here is to find solutions to reduce emission of greenhouse gases from farming, but also to help farmers adapt their production to a changing climate.
On a global scale, less than half of all wastewater is collected and less than one fifth is treated. This and the threat of water scarcity underline the need for more efficient and smarter wastewater treatment across the world. This white paper provides lessons learned from Danish stakeholders within wastewater treatment.
