IGLO’s Journey Towards Sustainability with JIMCO FLO-P

Iglo has become the largest and best-known frozen food brand in Germany, Austria, Belgium, and Portugal. Generations of children have grown up with Iglo’s iconic Captain Iglo. Iglo Germany is owned by Nomad Foods Europe.

At the Iglo fish factory, significant progress has been made in reducing CO2 emissions and energy consumption after implementing the innovative JIMCO FLO-P air purification system. Since its installation, the factory has achieved an annual gas saving of approximately 10 MWh, equivalent to a reduction of around 2,500 tons of CO2. Additionally, electricity consumption has decreased, leading to notable cost savings in euros per year.

The JIMCO FLO-P air purification system is a groundbreaking technology that not only reduces operational costs but also has a positive environmental impact. Since the system was implemented, there have been no complaints from neighbors regarding odor or other issues. The regulatory authorities have also praised the factory for installing the system during their initial inspection.

“We are very pleased with the results of implementing the JIMCO FLO-P air purification system. It’s not only good for business, but it also benefits the environment. We hope our experience inspires other companies to take similar steps to reduce CO2 emissions,” says Denis Soukup, Project Engineer at IGLO.
