ITW Grouts Taiwanese Met Masts

Ducorit offshore products are the only products in the industry supported by a turnkey system. For over 25 years, the wind industry has relied upon Ducorit for offshore grouting solutions. It has been the brand of choice in over 2,300 offshore wind turbine connections - and now we have added more met masts to our reference list.

The UHPC material Ducorit® has been a crucial structural component of foundations for offshore wind turbines, substations and met masts ever since the start of erecting windfarms offshore and we believe that this is the reason why our product has been chosen for new Taiwan projects.

In July ITW WindGroup grouted a met mast with Ducorit S5 for the offshore project TGC in Taiwan and in the beginning of November another met mast was grouted successfully for the TaiPower project in Taiwan.

The met mast for the TaiPower project is a part of a bigger project including 30 offshore turbines. The grouting operation on the TaiPower project was made by Hunter Kim from ITW WindGroup and Supervisor Henrik Soholt, from ITW Engineered Polymers. Both the contractor and the main contractor were very satisfied with the grouting work because the grouting was done successfully and within expected time.

The material used for the met mast was Ducorit D4 and the grouting team used approximately 21 tons. Ducorit® was successfully applied as a reliable, strong and cost-effective connection between the pile and transition piece.

Ducorit D og S series of grouts offer extremely high strength, minimal shrinkage, and outstanding fatigue resistance. Our turnkey system provides us unique access and insight into the needs of our customers and we are utilizing those insights to bring you next generation solutions.

The targets in Offshore Wind in Taiwan are set to reach an installed offshore wind energy capacity of 15MW by 2015, 320 MW by 2020, 1.5 GW by 2025, and 3 GW by 2030 - and ITW WindGroup will take an active role in this market.
