Danish Owners of Solar Panels Supply Large Amounts of Power to the Grid

The owners of solar panels provide a significant part of the production to the Danish power grid. The Association of Danish Solar Owners announced that their share of production reached close to 30 %  last Sunday in the time period 11.30 to 15.00.

The association has extracted data from Energinet.dk's overview "The Power Grid Right Now" and it shows that the contribution from Danish solar panel owners reached approx. 27 % of the total production and supply to the grid during the three and a half hours.

- Solar panels will play a more significant role in the total electricity production during daytime in the summer season, the Association of Danish Solar Owners states.

The Association of Danish Solar Owners extracted  the data continuously  during that specific time period last Sunday - for example at 12.00, where the production looked like this:

- Here we can see that the solar panels produce 526 MW to the grid and that they are producing 27,60 % of the total power produced throughout Denmark last Sunday May 7th  at 12.00, says the Association of Danish Solar Owners.

According to Energinet.dk, the total photovoltaic capacity reached 792MW in October 2016, and the production of total photovoltaics accounted for 1.8% of the total Danish electricity consumption in 2015 according to the Danish Energy Agency. The capacity is expected to rapidly increase to 1,750 MW by 2020 and 3000 MW by 2025.
