The Ellen MacArthur Foundation estimates that, “after a short first-use cycle, 95% of plastic packaging material value, or [EUR 66-100 billion] annually, is lost to the economy. . . and a staggering 32% of plastic packaging escapes collection systems.” Such figures are cause for concern for us all – and our planet. Nations, cities, and companies all have a critical role to play in setting and achieving ambitious sustainable packaging targets across the value chain.

What lessons can we learn from countries like Scotland and Denmark? This two-hour virtual event features leading sustainability experts spanning policy, cities & regions, and trade perspectives. Leading industry experts share national objectives; offer illustrative city & region “case studies;” and outline market opportunities, trends and challenges from a trade / buyer perspective. Journeys to market are also outlined through the eyes of innovative companies that are reimagining packaging via sustainable and circular solutions.

Moderated by Toke Falk Sabroe of LeaderLab, this event ultimately explores how the green transition and economic growth can go hand in hand.
The intended audience includes:

  • Companies
  • B2B end users and buyers (grocery stores, distributors, food & drink suppliers, etc)
  • Cities / municipalities
  • Policy leaders
  • Trade & investment professionals
  • Related trade associations and agencies
