House of Green inaugurated by H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark
House of Green was inaugurated today by H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark with an attendance including Minister for Climate, Energy and Buildings Martin Lidegaard and Minister for the Environment Ida Auken. The opening of House of Green marks a long-standing wish for a unified platform to showcase green Danish technologies and a collective framework to convey the Danish stories of green transition.
The Danish Industry Foundation has granted approximately DKK 15 million to establish the visitors’ and exhibition centre. During his welcome speech the chairman of State of Green, Torkild Bentzen, underlined the importance of having a venue such as House of Green, where green Danish solutions and competences can be showcased collectively:
“House of Green had not become a reality without constructive cooperation between the Danish Industry Foundation and State of Green, and it had definitely not come into being without the significant financial support of DKK 15 million, that the Danish Industry foundation contributes with”, Bentzen explained.
14 international delegations booked in September
House of Green will contribute to strengthen the competitiveness of Danish business life by acting as a first stop for international delegations that visit Denmark. Visitors are able to explore Danish solutions and competences before they venture out on a live tour to witness first hand how the solutions work in real life.
There is already great interest in House of Green. In September alone, corporate and political decision makers from 14 countries have already booked a visit, including delegations from Mexico, Japan and Lithuania.
Sten Scheibye, Chairman at the Danish Industry Foundation, explained that the foundation has chosen to target a great amount of resources to create synergies around the Danish positions of strength, which is exactly why the grant aimed at export of green energy technologies is so important:
“The goal of conveying the unified Danish energy story – and be able to create strong synergies across the individual products and solutions. It should be value adding”, Scheibye said.
Don’t tell it, show it!
Executive Director of the Confederation of Danish Industry, Karsten Dybvad, spoke on behalf of Danish corporate life and was keen on the fact, that House of Green can fulfill the old saying: Show it, don’t tell it:
Green business is good business
State of Green
State of Green will have daily responsibility for House of Green. State of Green is a public-private partnership with the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, the Danish Energy Association and the Danish Wind Industry Association as the private group of owners. The consortium has promoted green Danish solutions internationally since 2008, and the new showroom constitutes a powerful platform to serve this purpose.
