Challenge

The impacts of climate change, such as rising temperatures and droughts, are seriously threatening water resources. Currently, 3.6 billion people lack access to water for at least one month a year, a figure that could rise to 5 billion by 2050. In Africa, dependence on natural resources makes countries particularly vulnerable to climatic variations, creating increased risks of water shortages.

The Green Pilot for Sustainability Project is an initiative aimed at reducing potable water consumption and promoting sustainable practices across Africa to address the challenges posed by climate change. This project has a clear objective: to preserve water resources for future generations while improving water management in households, schools, public spaces, and administrative buildings.

Solution

ecoBETA has been developing sustainable technologies that help reduce water consumption in public and private infrastructures, as well as in households, with a significant impact on the preservation of natural resources.

Our best product, the ecoSMART EUROPA flush mechanism, stands out for its single button concept, designed to overcome the limitations of traditional dual button systems. Unlike two button mechanisms, which are often inefficient and prone to operating errors, ecoSMART valves represent a simple, intuitive solution, delivering water savings of at least 25%.

Result

As ecoBETA expands in Africa, it plays a pivotal role in tackling water scarcity and climate change by promoting sustainable water management.

Two testimonials highlight the effectiveness of ecoBETA’s products in Africa:

  • AfWASA (Côte d’Ivoire): A pilot project in Abidjan demonstrated water savings of 30 to 40% in public administrative sites, with the potential to save up to 97,200 m³ of water daily at the household level. This project underscores the importance of sustainable solutions in addressing Africa’s growing water scarcity.
  • Kyalami Schools (South Africa): At this educational institution, the implementation of ecoBETA technologies led to a 76% reduction in water usage within weeks, achieving a return on investment in less than 3 months. The project also served as an educational tool, teaching students the value of conserving this vital resource.

The Green Pilot for Sustainability project needs your support to promote water-saving practices across Africa! With ecoBETA, we are training young people, creating green jobs, and installing ecoSMART systems to reduce water use in public and private buildings.

Join us in expanding this impactful initiative and addressing water challenges in Africa. Together, let’s mobilize for a more sustainable future!

Thank you for your commitment!
