Lissy Holtegaard from Humlebæk suffered for many years from respiratory problems caused by pollen allergies. She expected to live with the symptoms for the rest of her life, until an air purifier changed her life.

Seventy-five-year-old Lissy Holtegaard had been plagued by respiratory problems, as well as asthmatic and allergic reactions, for as long as she could remember. She was also frequently hit by colds and the flu. After moving to new housing with poor indoor air quality, she experienced worsening asthma and became sick more often. The North Zealander quickly gave up hope that anything could alleviate her problems.

"One day, however, I read an article in a magazine that caught my attention. The article was about how a Danish-made air purifier can relieve respiratory problems, as well as asthmatic and allergic reactions. Several people shared how they had become symptom-free after using the product. It sounded almost too good to be true. Nevertheless, I immediately contacted the dealer," says the pensioner, who decided to purchase the air purifier mentioned in the article. The product is called Jimco MAC 500 and is about the size of a shoebox.

Respiratory problems almost completely disappeared

It quickly became clear that the air purifier made a difference. "Since I bought my air purifier, I’ve gotten significantly better. The birch pollen allergy that used to ruin the entire spring for me almost completely disappeared. My air purifier runs around the clock when there’s a lot of pollen in the air or when I start to feel the allergy coming on. My respiratory problems are almost gone, and symptoms such as itching, rashes, and a runny nose have also disappeared. My eyes no longer water either," explains Lissy Holtegaard.

Her allergies were considerably worse when she had to do without the air purifier while on holiday. "I got the flu and felt really unwell. Because I notice a tremendous difference in my quality of life when the air purifier is running, I will always take it with me on holiday from now on," she says.

Bacteria and microorganisms are eliminated

The air purifier uses ultraviolet light to destroy bacteria and fungi in the air. "Lissy has improved because her air purifier removes airborne particles such as mold and pollen. When microorganisms are killed, respiratory problems are also prevented. This is especially important in autumn and winter, when people spend less time outside and are more vulnerable." The MAC 500’s UV-C technology is patented by Jimco A/S in Rudkøbing, has received the EU environmental award, and is widely used both in Denmark and abroad.

"Jimco MAC 500 has many applications. In addition to creating a better indoor climate, the product removes unpleasant odors and extends the shelf life of organic food. All of this is possible because the air purifier reduces the concentration of bacteria and fungi by eliminating more than 99.9% of the microorganisms in the air that passes through it." The MAC 500 is used by private individuals to eliminate unpleasant odors from smoking, cooking, wood-burning stoves, as well as in summer houses, caravans, and basements. It is also used professionally in supermarkets, industrial kitchens, linen stores, hospitals, and nursing homes.

According to Danish and foreign laboratory tests, the air purifier also combats infections and contagious viruses. "In addition to avoiding respiratory problems and allergies, I am generally less sick today than I used to be. Air sterilization undoubtedly provides a better and healthier life, and I credit the air purifier for the fact that I’ve been feeling much better," concludes Lissy Holtegaard.
