As the wind industry evolves and wind turbine components increase in size, the demand for smarter, more adaptable installation and maintenance solutions continues to grow. Wind farm installation projects often can become costly due to infrastructure demands and environmental constraints, which can slow down the project development. Therefore, it is essential to find solutions that are a viable option for the future and align with green energy transition goals.

Built on the trusted Liftra Self-Hoisting Crane technology, Liftra has developed the LT1500 Installation Crane to address these challenges. With a required crane pad area of less than 900 m², the LT1500 is transported in just 8 trailer loads and relocated on-site using SPMT, reducing infrastructure limitations and the need for site modification. The LT1500 is designed to lift all turbine components,  supporting hub heights up to 250 m with component weight up to 120 tons.

Key advantages of the Installation Crane include:

• More than 47% reduction in CO₂ emissions
• Minimum 50% reduction of crane pad area
• No long boom assembly area needed
• Minimal mobilization (only 5–8 truckloads)
• Fast relocation between turbines, which reduces installation time

The Installation Crane is now in production, with an on-site test and proof of concept in first half 2026. As a scalable solution, it is set to be deployed for global operations – onshore wind turbine installation and offshore wind turbine maintenance, with a design that aligns with the industry’s shift toward turbines beyond 15 MW.
