Romania faces the dual challenge of increasing renewable energy capacity while preserving valuable agricultural land and supporting local economies. The integration of renewable energy solutions with agricultural activities is vital for long-term sustainable development.

Eurowind Energy  introduces a sustainable Danish concept to Romania through the Teiuș agrovoltaic solar park in Alba County. This solution uniquely combines solar photovoltaic energy generation with agriculture, allowing local farmers continued use of land for grazing livestock and other agricultural practices beneath and around solar installations.

Scheduled to become operational in April 2025, this project represents an investment of €55 million, including €15 million from Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)—a European Union-funded initiative designed to support member states in overcoming economic challenges and fostering sustainable growth. Additionally, the project includes the planned future integration of a 117 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), supported by a €7.6 million grant from PNRR. The solar park will generate approximately 103 GWh of renewable electricity annually—enough to power around 25,000 households. By harmonising energy production, advanced energy storage solutions, and agricultural practices, Eurowind Energy demonstrates Denmark’s expertise in sustainable innovation, providing economic growth, clean energy, and preserving agricultural traditions in Romania.
