As Poland’s largest-ever renewable energy project, Baltica 2 will lead the way for Poland’s transition to green energy, producing green electricity to meet the needs of approximately 2.5 million Polish households and deliver first power in 2027.
The project will diversify Poland’s energy production, enhance energy security, and provide cleaner and more affordable energy. This investment represents a significant step in Poland’s energy transition and serves as a major boost to economic development, attracting new investments to the entire Polish economy and helping to create new jobs.
Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm, which will be built, owned and operated in a 50/50 partnership between Ørsted and Poland’s largest energy company PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna will deliver 1.5 GW.
The PGE Capital Group is Poland’s largest energy sector company with respect to sales revenues and net profit. Thanks to the combination of its own fuel resources, power generation and distribution networks, PGE guarantees a safe and reliable power supply to over 5 million households, businesses and institutions.
The offshore wind farm will produce 1.5 GW of energy, enhance energy security, and provide green and more affordable energy. Over 2.5 million Polish households will be powered by Baltica2.
This case is part of the interactive Green Together Experience platform. Developed in cooperation with Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the platform showcases green solutions and projects around the globe.

The Baltica 2 offshore wind farm is the biggest offshore wind energy 1st phase project by capacity in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea under development by PGE Group and Ørsted. Its 1498 MW of capacity will allow for producing green energy from wind for about 2.4 million recipients, including households, schools, hospitals, institutions and companies. Together with the Baltica 3 stage it will create the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm complex which will contribute significantly to Poland’s green energy transition.
