Aarhus Vand is a utility situated in the second largest city in Denmark at Aarhus Bay. We supply around 350.000 people with drinking water produced from groundwater resources.
- We produce 15 mio. m3 liters of water annually.
- We treat 35 mio. m3 of wastewater in five wastewater treatment plants each year.
Our wastewater treatment plants are net energy producers instead of consumers utilizing sludge for gas production generating heat and electricity. We produce around 8,5 mio. kWh electricity and 4,8 mio. kWh heat annually.
Aarhus Vand strive to obtain a sustainable water cycle, adapting to climate change and becoming CO2 neutral. This calls for innovation. Through network, partnerships and by establishing joint ventures we strive to be an innovative utility.
International partnerships and cooperations ensuring knowledge transfer supports our vision of creating health through the supply of clean water. Our own ambitions for a sustainable water cycle calls for innovation which we find in inspiring partnerships. Furthermore, we also support innovation through Living Labs and co-creation of new solutions for the benefit of the Danish water industry.
