Designing with Daylight
Daylight is essential. The cycle of natural light is fundamental to well-being and maintaining the healthy rhythm of our circadian clocks. Daylight improves productivity and ability to focus, while reducing energy requirements for artificial lighting. The conference rooms at the Green Solution House are designed for presentations held in broad daylight enabled by LED monitors in place of conventional projectors. Daylight is maximized in the hotel rooms thanks to retrofitted glass balconies. Sun tunnels and light channels direct daylight into those spaces with limited natural light. In all the public spaces and hotel hallways, skylights create comfort. This daylight driven design approach has succeeded in creating evenly lit spaces especially in the conference center, where carefully placed skylights compliment the north facing glass facade.
