Bladt Industries began the construction of 111 foundations (monopiles and transition pieces) for the Danish offshore wind farm “Anholt” at the end of 2011. The project was finished in the third quarter of 2012 and required approximately 52,000 tonnes of steel. Bladt Industries’ client on the project was MT Højgaard, and the end client was DONG Energy.

During the second quarter of 2012, the substation for “Anholt” was loaded out from our facilities in Aalborg and installed in the offshore wind farm in the Kattegat. With its 400 MW, this is the substation with the largest capacity constructed by Bladt Industries so far. The total tonnage of the substation is approximately 1,800 tonnes. The contract included construction of the substation while the developer, Danish Energinet.dk, handled the design and the installation
