WindowMaster ambitiously enters US market

WindowMaster's ambitious entry into the US market comes in the wake of CEO Erik Boyter's 2015 takeover of the company from VKR Holding. WindowMaster has adopted a growth strategy in which the United States is a primary focus area.

WindowMaster supplies natural ventilation solutions that create fresh air in buildings, ensuring a better working environment and improve comfort - while also delivering major energy savings and significantly lower carbon emissions. WindowMaster solutions are furthermore instrumental in meeting the strict requirements of the US Green Building Council's LEED certification program, which promotes environmental and sustainable construction, as well as modern, energy-efficient buildings such as zero-energy buildings.

"We're pursuing the US market because it's ripe for replacing or combining traditional ventilation solutions with ours, which are based on natural ventilation. Given the rapidly expanding green agenda, our solutions are a perfect fit. They provide fresh air for users, offer a lower cost of ownership and save huge amounts of energy," says Erik Boyter, CEO.

California was chosen as the location for the company's headquarters for the region's climate zone, which is optimal in terms of natural ventilation, but also because of the state's strong focus on sustainable solutions and zero-energy buildings.

A survey of potential energy savings, LEED-certified buildings and public subsidies for energy efficiency improvements found that 35 states are particularly attractive for natural ventilation solutions - corresponding to 59% of the US population.

Already well underway

WindowMaster has already supplied solutions to a number of recognized and sustainable buildings through its partnerships in the United States, as they are perfectly suited for the exacting standards of the LEED certification program. Here are a few examples:

- The Tower at PNC Plaza: PNC Bank headquarters in Pittsburgh has garnered an array of prestigious awards for its design and architecture, including its natural ventilation to ensure a healthy indoor climate. WindowMaster supplied the building's window actuators and associated controls. The building is LEED Platinum certified.

- San Diego Mesa College: This campus has been honored for its green solutions, including its excellent ventilation solutions, with a prestigious ENR California Best Projects award and LEED Silver certification.

About campuses: University and college campuses will be a key focus area for WindowMaster in coming years, as many institutions of higher learning are making major investments in green solutions - and because they are home to the future developers of environmental and sustainable solutions.
