In November, one of the world's largest smart city events takes place in Barcelona. Danish companies will be present to share their smart city solutions with the rest of the world.

From November 13 – 15, 2018, the Smart City Expo World Congress will be held in Barcelona under the theme ‘Cities To Live In’. The purpose of the event is to empower cities and collectivise urban innovation across the globe while promoting social innovation, establishing partnerships and identifying business opportunities.

The event gathers more than 400 speakers within technology, smart governance and economy and the program is structured into five themes: digital transformation, urban environment, mobility, governance & finance, inclusive & sharing cities.

700 cities will be represented at the event together with 700 exhibitors, 400 speakers and 20,000 attendees from 120 countries. This makes it one of the world’s largest smart city events.

High-level representatives, as well as governments, institutions and start-ups from all over the world, will be participating in the Smart City Expo World Congress.

Director of Smart City Insights, Peter Bjørn Larsen, will also be participating at this year’s Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, “The expo is a good mix between cities, regions and companies and you get the opportunity to speak to smart city leaders from around the world. I actually started the first Danish delegation to the Expo five years ago, but today it has grown into a large Nordic Pavilion. Last year, we were around 250 delegates from the Nordics participating and it gave an opportunity to meet with Danish and Nordic companies and cities with state-of-the-art smart city solutions.”

The Danish organisation CLEAN gathers all of the Nordic participants and this year’s event. 85 participants will represent the Danish delegation, while the Nordic delegation is counting on 400 representatives in total, which is almost double up from last year. The Nordic countries, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland will have a total of 32 booths at the expo.

The Danish exhibitors are LEDiBond, Novalume, Sweco, DTU, Region Hovedstaden, Gate21, LOOP City and Nordic Smart City Network.
