The Global partnership initiative P4G, Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030, has launched a new fund that offers co-financing for public-private partnerships addressing concrete challenges within areas such as energy, water and food. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2018.
Do you have an idea for a public-private partnership that can transform a concrete challenge within areas such as water, food or energy into sustainable growth? Are you already bringing together public and private partners to create new markets and business models in developing countries? If so, your idea or partnership may qualify for co-funding of up to $1 million and receive valuable facilitation support and recognition.
P4G, Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030, is a new global partnership initiative that will boost countries’ efforts to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals by developing and scaling public-private partnerships that provide on the ground, market-driven solutions to real-life challenges. By cutting through the red tape and convene businesses and governments to break down the barriers for sustainable growth, P4G has the potential to significantly support Denmark’s impressive ambitions on the green growth agenda.
As part of the P4G facilitation mechanism, the P4G introduces the P4G Partnership Fund that annually will grant funding between $100,000 and $1 million to selected partnerships on sustainable growth within the areas of energy, water, food and agriculture, cities, and the circular economy. The P4G Partnership Fund is financed by the Danish government and has a total of $4 million available in 2018. To qualify, applicants must consist of both commercial and non-commercial partners (such as governments, municipalities and non-profit organizations).
Partnerships can apply online before March 30, 2018. P4G will then evaluate the initial applications and notify those selected to complete a more detailed application process. Winners will be announced at the P4G Summit in Copenhagen in October.
Partnerships entered or initiated by P4G, will besides funding, benefit from customized guidance and advice on set-up, governance and process. P4G will ensure engagement of experts and mentors to help drive the partnership forward and actively seek matchmaking with sources of finance and investment to secure long-term sustainability. Partnerships working under the P4G umbrella also has the potential to qualify for support from a variety of additional funds collaborating on the P4G sustainable growth agenda.
