The conference, arranged by Danish Cleantech Hub and State of Green in collaboration with Ramboll and the City of Copenhagen. Morten Kabell, Copenhagen Mayor for Technical and Environmental Affairs, kicked off the conference with a keynote speech focusing on Copenhagen's climate adaptation plan.

Co-benefits through climate adaption

Climate change is one of the most serious global challenges facing our society. Its consequences impact populations all over the world who need to adjust to increasing temperatures, rising sea water levels, longer periods of drought as well as stronger storms and other extreme weather incidents.

Cities need to rethink how they deal with climate change, water risks and the socio-economic benefits of water. This challenge formed the basis for discussion at the conference, which primarily focused on co-benefits through climate adaption, upgrading spaces for recreation to improve the liveability in cities.

Sharing experience was another key message to the full-packed auditorium who learned about new approaches to public-private city planning and mixed financing models - all resulting in the unlocking of socio-economic benefits thereby improving liveability.
