Sprout World

Sprout is a pencil with a seed inside. When it’s too short to write with, the pencil can be planted and will grow into a lovely plant.

Rethink – reuse!

At Sprout we have specialized in developing sustainable products with a second life. Plant your pencil stub when it is too short to write or color with – and watch it grow into herbs, flowers or vegetables. Join our mission to focus on waste reduction, recycling – and innovation. Note that all our products can be customized with your logo or special message.

Sprout is a green startup behind the world’s first sustainable pencil that you can plant after use. The vision is to become the global leader of green and sustainable consumer products. We sell to both businesses and retailers in more than 60 countries. The company is successfully developing rapidly and the sales and development potential is still relatively untapped. Sprout is now selling a variety of sprouting consumer goods.

We believe that a green company is one that not only strives for sustainability but takes a step beyond to try and create positive change. At Sprout, sustainability is all about using the earth’s resources as best as possible. Our products have two purposes, therefore giving the products a long life cycle. For Sprout it is essential that we are reducing negative impacts while also keeping an equal focus on identifying opportunities to increase positive impacts, not only for people but that which is particularly prevalent to the environment.

The seed capsule is water activated. The first few times you water Sprout activates the capsule and starts the seed’s germination. The pencil shaft can be kept in the soil as a helpful labelled planting marker or it can be removed. We’ve planted dozens of Sprouts and have found it usually takes about 2-3 weeks before they sprout.
