Masterplan for Olympic Games 2024

Schulze+Grassov and Behnisch Architekten were selected to draw up a masterplan for the Olympic Sailing Competitions 2024. The masterplan will transform the Olympic Centre Kiel-Schilksee to become a centre for maritime sports.

The partnership of Behnisch Architekten and Schulze+Grassov was selected by the City of Kiel to ensure a strong urban design solution that safeguards legacy goals and to provide new impulses for wider neighbourhood renewal. The existing harbour promenade is refurbished and a new active Olympia Boulevard bring the new life in the harbour right down to the waters edge. All proposed building structures have proven to have viable users after the Games.
