The road traffic contributes considerably to the total CO2 –emissions and a lot indicates that both passenger traffic and transport of goods continue to increase in the years to come. This may result in more pollution and congestion on the roads unless an effort is made now.

Mobility is still essential to the society growth and a necessary part of our lives. Both in connection with planning of new urban areas and change of existing areas it is necessary to take the transport requirements into consideration already in the planning phase. By doing so, the amount of traffic – and the emission of CO2 – can be reduced considerably.

We provide solutions with close interaction between localisation policy and planning of both road traffic, public transport and path traffic and in which a better use of the existing traffic area contributes to managing the traffic more smoothly.

More information

Rambøll works with sustainable traffic on three levels, from the overall urban planning and development via traffic planning to making the transport and means of transport more efficient.

Our specialists assist the authorities and private clients in integrating sustainable solutions in the traffic and urban development, in finding means for reducing the negative consequences of transport – and not least in finding alternative transport solutions.
