P4G Applications in 73 developing Countries: Denmark Top in Eligibility
The 2019 global call for P4G-partnerships ended with 382 applications from partnerships working in 73 developing countries.
The well-established Danish national P4G platform has assisted Danish partnerships string together the best possible applications. As a result, 90 per cent of the Danish scale-up and start-up partnership proposals submitted are eligible for funding, whereas the average eligibility for all partnerships across countries is 65 per cent.
“Among the criteria for P4G funding for a partnership is that its solution has the potential both to become a good business and to be scaled or replicated. This way solutions that are not currently available can be implemented and make a significant difference. The Danish P4G supports the applications involving Danish stakeholders by giving feedback on proposals to ensure that they present the partnership the best way and live up to the P4G application criteria,” says Iver Høj Nielsen, Head of P4G activities in Denmark.
Shortlisted partnerships notified soon
As the next step in the process, P4G and outside experts will evaluate the proposals. The P4G-partnerships, which are shortlisted for funding, are notified at the beginning of May.
P4G will announce its start-up partnerships, those selected to receive US$100,000, among the shortlisted finalists on 6 August. P4G scale-up Partnerships, those receiving up to US$1 million in funding, will be announced on 17 September, shortly before the start of the UN Climate Summit.

Eligibility: A proposals from a partnership is eligible, when it meets the requirements of P4G.
P4G Start-up: Start-up partnerships are eligible to receive up to $100,000 in funding. Start-ups are in the early phases of creating viable and innovative solutions. This round of applications had 263 start-up proposals.
P4G Scale-up: P4G scale-up partnerships are eligible to receive up to $1,000,000. This type of partnership has a documented bankable solution and is ripe for scalability. This round of applications had 120 scale-up proposals.
