Novafos is the water and wastewater company which serves the municipalities of Allerød, Ballerup, Egedal, Frederikssund, Furesø, Gentofte, Gladsaxe, Hørsholm, and Rudersdal.
Along with private waterworks, Novafos supply clean drinking water for 425,000 consumers. We clean the wastewater from all the consumers in the nine municipalities. We have 1,700 kilometres of water pipes and 3,400 kilometres of rainwater pipes and wastewater pipes. Every year we produce 18 million m3 of drinking water and clean 24 million m3 of wastewater.
In 2017, in a merger of Nordvand and six other water companies, the municipalities created Novafos.
In Denmark 100 % of our tap water comes from groundwater supplies. The Waterworks of Sjælsø is one of the largest waterworks in Denmark.
