Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) – Value creation of the future

The use of CFD in CHP plants means that you can have access to data on combustion processes, which otherwise would be impossible or very difficult to get as it either requires multiple stops in production or building an exact model of the unit. Thus, CFD allows us to perform tests and analyses without downtime.

Examples of areas and processes where CFD advantageously can be applied:

  • Emissions
  • Furnace design
  • Boiler design
  • Flue gas cleaning, e.g. SNCR / SCR
  • Erosion and corrosion

Through a combination of CFD calculations and our extensive knowledge it is possible to optimize the processes in the unit and thereby secure a more efficient combustion and better utilization of the flue gas. Furthermore, the lifetime and the energy efficiency of the plant are extended.
