Turkish visit to the energy city Frederikshavn

The modern waste management in the municipality has reduced the amount of waste, and together with the establishment of a new plant that converts household waste into heat  used in 3000 households in Frederikshavn city, the goal of reducing the climate pressure with gradual phasing in has succeeded. The Turkish municipal delegation explored the green transition in practice, and  the program included, among other things, sustainable construction. A newly built children's institution in Sæby, built from recycled materials, with low energy installations, green roof, LED lighting, solar cells and geothermal energy, has, in order to be a sustainable feature of the children's everyday life, focused on the vision of user involvement throughout Frederikshavn Municipality. Visitors and delegations in the Energy City Frederikshavn, including the Turkish, always receive - in Denmark's first climate municipality with the goal of being 100 percent fossil free in 2030 - an introduction to the local production of green energy and the resulting job creation in the area.
