Since 2017, the Danish Energy Agency has formally cooperated with the American Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) via the Energy Governance Partnership (EGP). The partnership focuses on sharing experiences with the planning and regulatory environment for offshore wind farms in Denmark. In 2018, the EGP-program started a collaboration on offshore wind with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and with California Energy Commission (CEC). The collaboration covers diverse offshore wind tendering topics like risk management, regulatory streamlining, environmental mitigation measures, long-term planning and consenting. In 2020, the EGP-program expanded its cooperation to New Jersey Bureau of Public Utilities (NJBPU), also on offshore wind and the regulatory environment.
