Alpga Wind Energy develops a large scale portfolio of wind energy projects in Texas, USA.
Alpha Wind Energy is through our subsidiary Scandia Wind LLC in Texas developing a portfolio of wind energy projects in Parmer, Sherman and Dallam Counties designed for large scale installation of wind energy and export of energy to Eastern Interconnection, WEC and ERCOT.
The ambition is to be able to deliver power to all corners of USA from the same location. The onnshore wind farms can deliver substantially cheaper power to the coastline than any offshore wind energy installations can.
- The total portfolio is in the range of 10,000 MW.
- Land leases has been secured for more than 6,000MW
- Wind Resource is excellent.
- Permitting is in place.
- Grid connection is available.
Alpha Wind Energy is focused on early stage development, but can also support the development through completion and construction as well as operation.
In 2012 Scandia Wind sold 600 MW of its portfolio in Parmer County Texas to a strategic long term investor. 230 MW has now been built and named Mariah del Norte. The project is owned by First Reserve.
Scandia Wind continues to develop its additional +2000 MW of wind energy project in Parmer County and its +5000 MW project in Sherman County. Solar PV might also be added to the project in the near future.
