Major sewer pipes in Aarhus

Aarsleff has carried out a major sewer renewal project in the northern part of Aarhus as well as in the central city. The work is part of a four-year framework agreement between City of Aarhus and a group of consulting engineering companies and engineering contractors. The project started in 2006 and is carried out as a framework agreement in accordance with the principles of partnering.

As part of the project, we executed five kilometres of pipe work, including big sewer pipes of up to DN1800 millimetres. Our work in the city was carried out in high-traffic areas using complex methods of execution, such as tunnelling and construction pits with secant pile walls.

Pipe rehabilitation with CIPP/No-Dig methods

During the entire construction period the Aarsleff Construction department worked well together with the Pipe Technologies department who had an independent framework agreement with City of Aarhus comprising No-Dig pipe renewal. We were often working together to find the best and least expensive method. We also worked closely with the consulting engineer and the client in order to develop innovative work methods and processes and thereby streamline the sewer renewal work.
