Back in April 2019, Aalborg CSP received an order from the Danish utility and energy supply company SK Forsyning to deliver an 8MW industrial solar heating plant. Now, only a few months after cutting the first sod, the plant has harvested its first sunrays, thereby producing energy for the first time.

A few months after construction commenced in Halsskov near Korsør (Denmark), the system has through its 950 flat panel collectors harvested its first sun rays and on its first day produced 35 MWh energy.

Combined with the district heating plant’s new biomass boiler, the solar heating plant will soon provide cheap, sustainable heating for 5,000 households in Korsør and Halsskov.
