As an introduction to the 7th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency, this field trip provides great insights to the benefits of an integrated energy system. As the world’s resources are becoming increasingly scarce, the public as well as private sector must figure out how to produce more from less.

On this field trip, participants will get the chance to explore how energy-efficient windows, insulation, heat regulators, ventilation systems, efficient pumps, smart meters, and intelligent management systems provide answers to how we make the most efficient use of the energy we are producing.

Lunch will be served on the bus free of charge.

State of Green is a not-for-profit, public-private partnership from Denmark. We seek to foster relations with international stakeholders interested in discussing their challenges and bring into play relevant Danish solutions that enable the green transition

The Confederation of Danish Industries presents how Denmark has managed to fast track energy efficiency or Danish Energy presents their findings and recommendations on how to ensure higher energy efficiency in Denmark.

The Confederation of Danish Industry – DI – is Denmark’s largest, most rep-resentative, and most influential business and employers’ organisation, covering manufacturing as well as service industries across sectors such as transport, energy, IT, health, trade and professional services.

Danish Energy is a non-commercial business organisation for Danish energy companies. It is managed and financed by its member companies, mainly the electricity companies, and works to secure for them the freest and most favorable conditions for competition and development to ensure development, growth and well-being in Denmark.

Tour around ROCKWOOL factory

This visit will highlight how technological and circularity innovation has contributed to the decarbonization of the factory and thereby the production of low carbon energy efficiency solutions. The tour around ROCKWOOL’s production site illustrates how decarbonization of energy-intensive industry is possible. ROCKWOOL has moved from coal as the primary energy source to natural gas and over to biogas at the beginning of 2021.

ROCKWOOL is a line of stone wool insulation. Stone wool is a versatile natural material with multiple benefits that makes it ideal for applications in buildings, industry, transportation, horticulture, and water management. Furthermore, stone wool has a unique ability to be recycled and reused as raw material in production of new construction materials.

Visit to Sønderborg Barracks

Sønderborg Barracks is no longer an active barrack but is instead used as a recreational area for local citizens. The building is worthy of preservation. On this visit we will highlight how to energy renovate buildings worth preserving without compromising climate, indoor climate or history.

The Sønderborg Barracks are located right across from the hotel and conference center. The transport back will therefore be by foot.
